The Interstellar Treaty Organization (ISTO; pronounced /ˈɪstoʊ/, IS-toe), also called "the Stellar Alliance", is a military alliance established by the signing of the Interstellar Treaty on 22 September 1994. The NATO headquarters are in Magnolia Bend, Louisiana, United States, and the organization constitutes a system of collective defense whereby its member states agree to mutual defense in response to an attack by any external party.
