PRE EGRESS

PRE — RETRIEVE Unstow PRE and PRE PLSS equipment from footlocker.
CHECK O2 Verify LiH0 scrubbers in good condition and safe for use and that interior O2 canister is at 100%.
PRE — INFLATE Connect PRE to Shuttle airlock AUX suit air supply system or to external tank supple via EMU suit hose. Verify communication and PLSS system okay unless on external supply.
DON O2 MASK Crewmember to don O2 mask. Verify sufficient O2 flow and PRE integrity.
SEDATIVE (if reqd) Crewmember to apply sedative patch if required. Alternatively, crew can use MP3 player or other item to remain calm in needed, provided communication with rescue crew maintained.
ENTER PRE Enter PRE and assume position. Knees should be tucked and head brought as close to knees as possible. O2 canister and CO2 scrubbers to be placed between legs. Arms should curl around knees. Tail should be curled around to the front, if able.
PRE — CLOSE Rescue crewmember will close and secure PRE by zipping the enclosure and verifying positive pressure seal. Verify no leaks.
'PRE — SECURE Rescue crewmember to secure PRE to transfer tether or to suit using PRE D-clips and tether and/or caribiner. ' Verify PRE secure to tether/EMU.
WARNING
At no time should the PRE be allowed to be transferred untethered. Doing so may lead to loss of the PRE.
COMM — CONNECT Connect communication cable from PRE to EMU or external antenna. Verify secure.
COMM — CHECK Rescue crew to verify communications system between PRE and EMU are nominal and reassure crew within PRE is okay.
A/L — DEPRESS Rescue crew to verify communications system between PRE and EMU are nominal and reassure crew within PRE is okay.
